Don't panic - you don't *have* to register until your child is 6 as of September 1st. <br /><br />Public school allows the child to start grade 1 if s/he is 6 by December 31st. Homeschool allows registration if 6 by February. No idea why there is a discrepancy there. <br /><br />But, legally, only children who are 6 -16 on September 1st of a particular year must be registered. A child who turns 6 on September 3rd wouldn't technically have to be registered.
